Distributed Power On Freighters //

Distributed power runs remote signaled locomotives throughout a trains length supplying the power needed to get through long trip or trip with a rough terrain or both. These locomotives can run anywhere in the middle of the train to the end. The allowance of distributed power in US rail has also allowed for longer trains for the sake of saving costs and cutting crew.

Sometimes you will get 2 locomotives combined into the one train when the terrain is on a route that is flat and straight. Usually you’d see something like this take place in Florida, or in a region like the US Midwest and Great Plains.
