Utah Transit Authority: Frontrunner In Transit //

According to the 2020 US Census Salt Lake City, Utah has a population of 200,133, yet UTA weekday ridership was 100,300 and annual ridership in 2021 was 23,960,100, punching well above its weight class for North American passenger transit. Operating throughout the Wasatch Front of Utah, the metropolitan areas of Ogden, Park City, Provo, Salt Lake City and Tooele, UTA operates fixed route buses, flex route buses, express buses, ski buses, three light rail lines in Salt Lake Countyโ€™s TRAX, a streetcar line in Salt Lake City (the S-Line), and a commuter rail train; The Frontrunner from Ogden through Salt Lake City to Provo. Included within the regional rail network are 50 light rail stations, 15 commuter rail stations, and 7 streetcar stops. Salt Lake City is a great example of a US city doing the best with what they have and creating plans for expansion constantly, as well as a blueprint for other western US cities trying to contain the sprawl seen in such areas.
